Let me tell you about...

...my favorite cloth diapers!!! I have recently discovered Nifty Nappy cloth diapers thanks to my friend Tara, and they have quickly become my favorite diapers! They are are adorable and soooo absorbent!!! They also are one size and will fit from about 7lbs to about 35lbs. My 6 month old and my almost 2 year old use the same diapers!!

Anyways! The owner is having a giveaway contest on her blog 6 And Still Sane! If you have wanted to try cloth diapers, this is a good chance to win some free ones! The giveaway is for a $50 gift card, so that can get you two diapers, or a diaper and a wool cover! This is a great opportunity, don't miss out!

Lots of changes!

We have lots of changes going on at our house! My amazing husband deployed in July, and we miss him like crazy! We are 7.2 weeks in now, and we are starting to get in to a routine. The girls and I get to talk to him pretty much every day, so I'm thankful for that!

The kids are growing more and more every day! Meadow started preschool, and she just loves it! She has so much fun play and learning. She brings home art projects every day, and sings me songs that she learns. :)

Sage is crawling and sitting up now, and she is trying to pull up on things. She is also eating table food, and loves it!!

I have been moving quickly in my college classes, so hopefully I can graduate in 2012!

Big news! I have also started training to become a doula! I am getting my certification through Birth Arts International. I am so excited about it because I love pregnancy and birth, and I am passionate about it. I have a couple of pregnant friends who are going to let me be their doula. I am so excited about it, and I can not wait to learn more and more so that I can help these beautiful women have beautiful births! My business name is Born to Birth Doula Services, and this blog is going to be a business blog as well. :)

I guess that's it for now... I'll update more often, promise. Well, we'll see, haha, I'm not very good at updating.............

Starting Over Again....

It has been well over a year since I have even really looked at my blog, but I thought I'd hop over here for a bit. :) My husband is always saying I should blog more. I think he just likes how much I dote on him in my bio. ♥

My family circa 2010 ☺
So much has happened in the past year. Mid may 2009 we found out we were PREGNANT! Surprise! Sage Ashlyn was born January 25, 2010. We almost didn't make to to the hospital before she made her appearance! It wasn't quite as fast as her sister Lily(3 hours), but she was born in just about 4.5 hours and about 15-20 minutes after we got to the hospital!

She is almost 5 months now, growing and learning so much!

Over the past year we have also moved yet again! We are now living in Hinesville, GA and stationed at Ft. Stewart. It's nice here. Hot. Humid. Buggy. But it's not bad! We love being close to the beach, and there is a lot to do if we just travel a bit.

Of course Ft. Stewart means deployment though. :( In the coming weeks Bob will be deploying. It's going to be hard, but we will get through it! He is TDY right now, and he gets back on Saturday!

I've been sewing more, and knitting more, so I'm sure I'll have stuff to share. I've been trying to sell more from my Etsy store and at the local farmer's market, but I've been thinking of closing the "business" forever to pursue other passions. I have been and continue to go to college to become a history teacher, and I've also decided that I'd like to become a birth doula. I am so passionate about birth and the choices/options women have, but I can't have babies forever. I would like to support other women and experience birth as a doula.

So, I guess that is all for now. I WILL keep this up this time! I promise. At least I will try..... :)

"SIGH!"

Yesterday Bob had CQ, so we worked all day, and then went straight to CQ after work. We went to the PX to meet him for dinner since he can't come home. I got some great deals on clothes for the girls, but that's the only good thing about the night. On my way back home I was driving down Sheridan Rd. on post and I heard a "POP" and saw something flying behind my car. I thought I had just hit a soda bottle or something, but I was wrong. Not long after I started hearing to car make a sort of clickity noise, and then it started smoking while I was on Rogers Ln. I pulled in to a gas station and had to wait for Bob to get relieved to come get us. We ended up having to call USAA to tow the car to our house. GREAT! Turns out a freezer plug fell off. A freezer plug that was just replaces 3 MONTHS ago! They must have put it on wrong or faulty because these things don't just fall off. I am so mad about it! Today we had a playdate at Jenn's house, so Bob took us, and Jenn brought us home. Tomorrow I have a meeting with Connie at the SKIES on post about becoming a dance teacher, so Bob will have to try to take off yet again or I'll have to ask a friend to take me. I don't want to miss this meeting because I want to get the ball rolling to start teaching asap! I just hope it is all fixed by next week so that I can get to my brothers graduation.

On a happier note here are a couple of pics from our playdate today!

Rainy Day = Brownies

So yesterday we woke up to thunder and lightening again. We were planning on going to MCCW and a playdate, but the rain kept us inside. I got caught up on a LOT of T.V. shows that I have been missing now that we no longer get local stations through Direct T.V.(grr), Meadow and I baked brownies! This is the first time that Meadow has ever helped me cook for real. She was "cooking" for me in her kitchen all day, so I thought she would enjoy helping me make something for real. She enjoyed splattering the batter all over the kitchen as well as eating the left over batter after it went in the oven! :D

Kimono Dress by Amy Butler

At Hobby Lobby the other day I bought Amy Butler's book "Little Stitches for Little Ones". It has a lot of cute sewing projects, and I made the kimono style dress for Lily! It is size 9-12 months, so it's a little big on here, but I think it turned out great! I used some fabric I had lying around, and I am going to make some bloomers and soft sole shoes(which is also in the book) to match.

Slacking Again. Lots to update!

I really need to stop getting out of the habit of this! I have been so busy that I haven't had time to update. Thanks to Diana for reminding me about it!

SO much has happened in the past 2 months, but I don't have time to add it all. We went to the zoo, Easter, Lily was baptized, Meadow got in the pool for the first time this year, and we have had many many playdates. I also made made a new kimono style dress for Lily. Since I last posted Lily has started sitting up, crawling like crazy, pulling up on things, and is getting teeth! Meadow is learning more and more everyday, and she is talking better everyday.

Pics:
It was so hot in April that we were able to bring out the pool! Meadow loved it and her new swimsuit!
This is at Lily's baptism on April 18th. Both Lily's grandparents came down for the occasion!
Lily started pulling herself to stand up on things at 6 months old! She is also crawling like crazy and never stops. She is getting three teeth too!
These are from Easter...
